ECONOMY

Background

The Euroregion will build a sustainable, competitive, circular economy by 2030 that is carbon-neutral and based on digital transition.

To achieve that aim, its objectives for 2030 are:

A ground-breaking circular economy
  • The euroregional circular economy must be one of the leaders in Europe:
    • increasing the value of resources through the prevention of waste generation, re-use, re-manufacture and recycling, particularly of textiles, plastics and electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE);
    • giving priority to integrated management of the water cycle (management, preservation and quality…).

SME search for the I3 consortium

In the framework of the response to a European call for projects with the aim to finance Interregional Innovation Investments, the Euroregion Pyrenees Mediterranean and its partners are looking for SMEs to join the consortium.

We are looking for SMEs working on solutions in Circular Economy in the Agrifood sector and needing joint investments with other EU SMEs (Interregional Investments) on a Value Chain. The Technology must be on a Technology Readiness level between 6 -9, on scale-up phase.

If the project is selected, the SMEs will benefit from EU Funds for their investments and from a support program with the partners and the Regional Innovation Agencies.

If you are interested please complete this partner search form. Be precise in the descriptions but beware of Intellectual Property Rights. This document will not be released publicly.

Integrated euroregional management
  • The Euroregion will prioritise integrated management of its territory, inland and coastal, preferentially based on the responsible blue economy, which means:
    • integrated management across inland, coastal and island areas of the Euroregion;
    • key sustainable industries: produce of the sea, blue biotechnology, understanding coastal areas, coastal management, renewable energy, including hydrogen for sea transport.
The key strategic sectors

The Euroregion will prioritise a transformed circular economy based round three key strategic industries:

  • the bio-economy: the Euroregion will support development of the bio-economy to become a sustainable region with food sovereignty;
  • health: cooperation is essential to make the euroregional health sector a leader in Europe, based in part on a new silver economy around E-health, bio-health, and health and biodiversity…
  • travel and tourism: the Euroregion is committed to ensuring that as a holiday destination, the leading destination in the world, it remains healthy, safe, resilient and competitive.
